Kawaii cloth diaper on my 5 day old baby. She's 8.4lbs and it's on the smallest setting. Still looking too big.
I rarely use the Kawaii dipes because it doesn't have any stay dry lining. The inner fabric is made of bamboo so apparently, it doesn't wick away moisture.
I still need to find some cloth diapers that would be grandma friendly because honestly, my mom refuses to use them on her when she changes Ash. She buys her disposables and uses them on my baby when she's looking after her. I may have to buy the ones with hook-and-loop because the snaps confuses her a bit (it confuses me a bit too, sometimes)
On washing, I start by rinsing the diapers in cold water. I use very, very little mild detergent made for baby clothes on about 10 cloth diapers and run them in the wash. Then rinse them twice, sometimes thrice when there's still some suds. I then line dry them under the sun to disinfect and get rid of stains. The bamboo fabric seems to get a lot of stains and it's so hard to get them off, the Tushy Wushy and eBay dipes are easier to clean and remove stains as compared to the Kawaii cloth diapers (because they're made with bamboo fabric).
I'm still scouting for affordable (cheap) but quality cloth diapers in the market. Does anybody know where I can find some?
Wish I tried cloth diapers din. My daughter is almost 3 already. Hihi.
ReplyDeletewow! some portions of this diaper is made of bamboo? Didn't know that before ^_^
ReplyDeleteyup! the kawaii cloth diapers are made mostly with bamboo fabric. =)
ReplyDeleteAre those Babyland cloth diapers from eBay?
ReplyDelete@blackshirt13 - nope, these eBay diapers are unbranded =)
ReplyDeletehi, this is aloleng, I replied on one of your blogs regarding the tushy wushy. I'm actually satisfied with my fuzzibunz and charlie banana, though they are expensive than kawaii and tushy, but it's worth its price. charlie is 1T and fuzzi is 1,100 which I bought from rustan's. I don't have large stash as you are, I only own 2 fuzzi and 2 charlies.
ReplyDeleteI 'm a work-at-home-mom, so it's ok for me to wash every time it's used. But now that both brands are tested in merely 3mos, I think I made a great deal with the price of both. I'm planning on adding more to my stash. Baby boy is only 10 months old and I started cloth diapering when he's 8.
Someone is planning on giving me a Grovia AI2 (the one with shell) as a present by august, so I'll give that a try as well.
Good for you! I've also heard great reviews on Grovia AI2. I hope you also get the stay-dry liner from Grovia because the moms who've used Grovia say their soaker pad isn't stay-dry.
ReplyDeleteBut they say it's easier to use because you can reuse the shell if it's not soiled and just wash the soaker pad.
yes, the seller also suggested the booster. Anyway, my baby is a heavy wetter so a booster liner (which has fleece) is really needed. hahaha. Thank you so much, your blog really helps mom who wants to cloth diaper their babies.
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome! That was my intention. =)
ReplyDeleteI won the online contest and the prize was the Grovia, good thing I didn't bought it, not doing well with my 1yo son. it leaks, maybe because the insert is big enough for him. It may work if he's a little more bigger. (I hope so). I saw reviews about Alva Baby Diaper, super cheap and yet they say it's great, they offer free shipping even if you order just 1. I'm tempted to try one. Are you familiar with it? How's the cloth diaper performing so far?
ReplyDeleteCongrats sis! About the Alvababy, ok naman sya but get the ones with hip snaps lalo na kung maliit thighs ni baby. I noticed pag walang hip snaps yung suot ng baby ko, it leaks. I'm planning to order ones with double gussets na Alvababy din pero I also want to get Thirsties Duo Wrap =/
Pde din sya pang night time. I have a vid para sa friend ko tunkol sa mga diff ng mga cloth diapers na meron ako (rumparooz, charlie banana, fuzzi and alva) pag gusto mo, share ko sayo, nakaprivate lang kase ampanget ng pagkakavid ko eh, hahaha.
